We are recruiting on behalf of our industry leading Herefordshire client who require an experienced Health & Safety and Environment professional to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis.

The ideal candidate will preferably have a certificate in NEBOSH or equivalent, although candidates with IOSH and relevant experience within a manufacturing setting will still be considered.

What the successful candidate can expect:

• £45,000 - £50,000 per annum
• Monday to Thursday 8:30am – 4:30pm

Under the direction of the Environmental Manager, the SHE Advisor will be responsible for improving environmental performance, liaising with management and staff providing guidance and advising on Health & Safety matters as required

What you will be doing:

• Monitor implementation of health and safety risk controls and report KPIs
• Auditing of operational requirements against EHS management systems and procedures
• Supporting & assisting process risk assessments, safe working procedures and advising on improvements.
• Provide proactive support in the implementation of the Company Health & Safety policies and procedures as well as company wide initiatives and industry best practice
• Conduct accident investigations and reporting should any accident, adverse event occurs
• Prepare implement and plan specific and complex lifting plans for non-standard operations
• Guide departmental managers and supervisors on standard lifting operations, controls and procedures
• Train and guide staff on new H&S working methods, policies, procedures and working instructions
• Identify opportunities to continuously improve health and safety performance and support with developing and implementing those opportunities
• Engage staff of all levels in making health and safety improvements, demonstrating enthusiasm and modelling positive safety behaviours

 What we are looking for:

• NEBOSH or equivalent would be preferred, although candidates with IOSH Managing Safely will be considered
• Experience in a manufacturing environment
• Good working knowledge of all MS Office applications and internet applications
• High level of self-motivation to succeed
• Ability to work under minimal supervision and use own initiative
• Strong interpersonal skills at all levels of the organisation
• Able to represent the organisation is challenging environments
• Ability to work under pressure and deadlines and to react to ever changing work priorities
