Our South Shropshire based client is seeking a highly organised, driven, and motivated Systems Administrator to oversee the day-to-day management of their internal systems, ensuring an efficient, reliable and secure platform for their ecommerce activities.

What the successful candidate can expect:

• Working hours: Monday - Thursday 8.30am - 5pm, Friday 8:30am – 4pm
• Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum, depending on experience
• Overtime paid on top of salary

What you will be doing:

• Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of any physical or cloud-based servers, workstations, and software applications
• Monitor system performance and ensure high levels of availability and security
• Perform regular system health checks and audits
• Manage network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs
• Ensure network connectivity and troubleshoot issues
• Provide technical support and resolve system issues for users across the organisation
• Ensuring the effective day to day running of the website, working with external agencies where appropriate to ensure a seamless customer experience
• Conduct training sessions for staff on system use and best practices
• Document common issues and solutions for future reference
• Security management and backup and disaster recovery
• Manage software licenses and ensure compliance with vendor agreements
• Create scripts to automate repetitive tasks and enhance operational efficiency

Person specification:

• Prior experience within a similar role
• Proficiency in operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS, iOS, Android), networking, virtualisation, Customer Management Systems (CMS), Warehouse Management Systems, and cloud platforms
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication for user support and documentation
• Experience of working within and uploading products on Magento, eBay and Amazon
• Experience in e-commerce marketing and have experience and a basic understanding of SEO practices preferred
• Relevant certifications would be desirable
